The New York Giants capped off a miserable 2013 campaign with a convincing win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

The New York Giants avoided their tenth loss of the season with a 20-6 romping of the Washington Redskins in the season finale. They didn’t however avoid losing quarterback Eli Manning to injury. Manning left the game at the end of the first half with a high ankle sprain and did not return; officially putting an end to a nightmarish season for the former two-time Super Bowl MVP.

Manning led the league in interceptions this season with 26 and his 58.3 completion percentage was his lowest since the 2007 season. With sky high expectations heading into 2013, the Giants staggered to a 0-6 start and never fully awoke from their summertime slumber.

During training camp, general manager Jerry Reese installed a Super Bowl Countdown clock to inspire Big Blue to strive for February’s big game. The Giants were not contenders this season, but mere contenders finishing below .500 for the first time since 2004.
