Redskins Park Notes: Hall Out
. . . Defensive tackle Brandon Noble returned to Redskins Park today. He said he'll miss anywhere from four to six weeks after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
He said there was no surprise that he had a bone bruise, the reason why he'll miss so much time. The cartilage put more pressure on his knee in certain spots, causing him to chip a hole in the bone. Cartilage got lodged in the bone and caused the bruise.
''It was worse than we initially thought because there was a bone bruise involved,'' he said. Noble said he hurt the knee three weeks ago, but played through it until Sept. 8th when something ''gave in there.''
As for his future, Noble said, ''I'm just going to get through these next couple of weeks and help out as much as I can and hopefully get on the field toward the second half of the season. After that, we'll make a decision. I'm not quite there yet.''
. . . Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs was not fined for his hit on quarterback Patrick Ramsey, the one that knocked him from the game -- and the starting job. Coach Joe Gibbs said the league ruled that a penalty should have been called, but there was no fine.
Briggs said, "They're not going to fine me? That's great news. It's a lot of money when they fine anyone. I'm happy. I think for the most part the league is fair and that's how it came out today.''
