Portis Ready

Running back Clinton Portis did not practice, but said today there's no doubt he'll play against Dallas on Sunday.

Portis said he's still sore from Monday's loss to Minnesota. Rather than practice today, he focused on strength and conditioning, two areas where he's improved, director of sports medicine Bubba Tyer said.

Tyer and Portis both said he suffered no setbacks by playing Monday. And Portis said he's glad he did play.

But he wants to make sure this isn't a season-long problem, which is why he hasn't practiced this week.

‘'We're taking it easy now so we don't have to deal with it all season,'' said Portis, who is listed as questionable.

...Tight end Christian Fauria hurt his ankle in practice Wednesday and sat out Thursday. He's listed as probable. Tight end Renaldo Wynn (ankle) is listed as probable.
