In a move that has been long anticipated, Joe Gibbs
announced today that Jason Campbell will start at quarterback for the
Washington Redskins on Sunday when they travel to Tampa to take on the
Buccaneers.
Campbell, in his second season with the Redskins, has yet to
take an NFL snap. The Redskins drafted him out of Auburn in the first round in
2005. They traded three picks, including their first selection in the 2006
draft, to Denver to obtain the late first rounder that they used to take
Campbell.
At Auburn, Campbell was the SEC Offensive Player of the Year
as a senior, leading the Tigers to the conference title in an undefeated
season.
