Washington Out for Skins
The swelling in his knee remains, so the Redskins will shut him down for Sunday's game at St. Louis -- and possibly the season finale the following week against New York as well.
This will be Washington's second missed game of his seven-year career. He'll either be replaced by Jeff Posey or Warrick Holdman. If Holdman replaces Washington, the Redskins likely would start rookie Rocky McIntosh on the strongside.
''A lot of our players play off of Marcus' excitement,'' Redskins coach Joe Gibbs said. ''We are going to play our first game without him. It is a big deal for us. We will have to have some guys step up and really play well and supply some of the energy and enthusiasm that he does."
