The Redskins freed up more cash, and locked in a valuable special teams player, Friday.

Washington extended multi-year deals for guard Randy Thomas and fullback Mike Sellers. And the Redskins signed safety Vernon Fox to a multi-year deal.

Fox started six games at safety, however most view him as a special teamer only. He's smaller than his listed size of 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds.

Locking in Thomas helps alleviate future cap problems. Thomas would have counted $5.5 million against the cap this year and $9.5 next year. Scout.com has not yet obtained details of his new deal.

Sellers would have been a free agent after next season.
