I’m still not convinced
any of these guys should make the roster and that the Skins have
missed the boat with not having a proven cheap vet in camp with
starting experience……………especially with Randy Thomas’ knee is
playing up and Chris Samuels straining a knee. But right now I’ll
lean towards Tucker of the guys listed here. It wouldn’t surprise
me if another vet is brought in and beats them all out.

Mike Espy WR |
Corey Bradford WR |
|
The young project versus
the veteran. In the end it may very well be their special teams
abilities that determine who gets the roster spot rather than
their receiving skills. But for now Espy has the spot because he
knows the system and has shown he can play some pretty good ST’s. |
|
Eric Edwards TE |
Tyler Ecker TE |
|
Another young project
versus the veteran type battle. This time though – at least
initially – I’ll lean towards the experienced player to take the
third TE spot. Edwards has good hands and has started in this
league for Arizona. Ecker has also missed some camp time with
injury which puts him further behind the eight-ball in his bid to
grab the last TE spot. |
|
Vernon Fox S |
Omar Stoutmire S |
|
Taylor, Landry and
Prioleau have three of the four spots locked down. Both Fox and
Stoutmire played well in 2006 for the Skins and Saints
respectively. So again special teams may well be the separator in
this battle and right now I would lean to Fox. |
|
Ade Jimoh CB |
Jerametrious Butler CB/Byron Westbrook CB |
|
Jimoh has been one of
Washington’s best special teams players over the past 5 years and
continues to improve slowly as a pass defender. Butler brings
starting experience and is starting to hit his straps in camp,
while the coaching staff have had nothing but praise for young
Westbrook. Jimoh has the final CB spot – for now. |

2. Byron Westbrook CB
3. Chris Wilson DE
