Campbell to Play

Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell said he'll play against Jacksonville in the preseason finale on Thursday, less than two weeks after it appeared he had suffered a devastating injury vs. Pittsburgh.

Campbell said his bruised left knee remains a little sore and swollen, but he anticipates it being much better by Thursday. He will practice Tuesday. Campbell said doctors have told him he's not "at any risk" by playing.

"One thing a quarterback can't do," Campbell said, "is have too much time away from it because you lose your rhythm and your edge. It's important not to miss too much time because of all the things you work so hard on over the summer, you don't want to lose it right before we start the season." Recommended Stories
