WR Keenan McCardell Signed
He went to Cleveland in 1992 and played four seasons with the Browns before moving on to Jacksonville, where he would become one of the game's premiere receivers over the next six seasons (1996-2001). He still ranks second in Jaguars team history with 499 receptions for 6,393 yards and 30 touchdowns.
McCardell then spent two seasons in Tampa Bay, including the Buccaneers 2002 Super Bowl XXXVII Championship season, before moving on to San Diego. He spent the past three NFL seasons with the Chargers appearing in 37 games over that span. Last season McCardell played in 14 games with 11 starts and caught 36 passes for 437 yards. A free agent this past off-season, he signed with Houston prior to the start of training camp but was released prior to the start of the regular season.
McCardell will wear jersey #80.
In addition, the Redskins announce that they have released S Omar Stoutmire.
