On if he had a sense the Redskins were looking at him: “No, not really actually. I was pretty surprised when they called and said they were picking me. I talked to them a little bit at the combine and a couple guys at the Senior Bowl, but other than that I really haven’t had much contact with them.” On if he knows what his role will be: “It is just introductory so far and they haven’t really said anything yet about it.” On if he can play guard: “Really I will play anywhere on the line I can contribute. I went down to the Senior Bowl and played guard for the first time. By then end of the week I felt more comfortable playing it, but at the same time I played tackle in college, so I feel like I’m pretty versatile.” On his strengths as a lineman: “Number one, I am pretty physical on the line. I like to go out and hit the guys. Another thing, I feel like I am intelligent, my awareness on the field stands out and just being a physical and intelligent lineman.” On if he thinks he can earn a starting spot: “I kind of told everyone that I just want to go out and compete as hard as I can. If I earn a starting spot, that is my goal, but at the same time I just want to be a part of the team and do whatever I can to make them successful.” On if he has heard of Joe Bugel (Offensive Line): “Yeah, I’ve heard some. You are always hearing about the Redskins offensive line, The Hogs. That is one of the main things I think about when I think about the Redskins.” |
