How did Landry look today? How did Jansen look at Guard? How is Heyer doing practicing with the first team? All this and more right here...

...Jason Taylor (knee) did not practice and coach Jim Zorn said he's not yet running full speed. Taylor did do some light running in between practice sessions, but that's about it. Taylor will be at a game-time decision.

...Safety LaRon Landry likely will play. He looks pretty good running around during practice. Antwaan Randle El also will play with his wrist injury.

...It's funny to watch Jim Zorn conduct his big press gathering before his first game. Joe Gibbs used to pucker up big-time that week, wearing his nerves on his sleeve. Zorn does not; looking as calm as he did during mini-camp in May.

...Owner Dan Snyder has watched a lot of practices recently. He's also ditched the suits he used to always wear at practice, opting for the sweat pants and golf shirt look more often than not. See, he has changed.

...Stephon Heyer got yelled at for jumping early on one play during 11-on-11 drills. But he held his own and was doing a decent job getting to the second level.

...Very weird to see Jon Jansen running with the scout team. It's hard to come up with an equivalent situation over the years.

...Jansen continued to work at left guard during one-on-one and two-on-two work. He does not look suited for that spot, but clearly it would take time for him to learn this spot. When going against Lorenzo Alexander one-on-one, Jansen stopped him the first time but got bull rushed the next time, prompting DL coach John Palermo to say, "Way to go! Way to get him off the spot!"

...Kedric Golston got inside Randy Thomas in a one-on-one.

...Heyer and Chris Wilson split their competition

...In the two-on-two portion, Chris Samuels and Jansen worked together. The first time, Golston got inside Jansen; he has a hard time reacting to certain moves; and Andre Carter got inside Samuels. On the next time, Jansen stopped Golston (Samuels did the same). Joe Bugel exulted a bit harder because of what Jansen did. Gotta think this is hurting Buges to see what Jansen is dealing with. We know what Buges has had to deal with lately, but he loves Jansen.

...Carter and Robert Jackson sprinted to the other end of the field after a drill, racing. Carter won. And now you know.
