Jon Jansen is closer to returning to his old position, if only for a game. With Stephon Heyer still ailing, Jansen is likely to start at right tackle against Dallas on Sunday.

Heyer sprained his shoulder in the win over Arizona.

"Right now we are with Jon Jansen at tackle,’’ coach Jim Zorn said today. "Stephon Heyer got some practice time in today so he is feeling better, but he probably will be a game-time decision. We are not disappointed at Stephon Heyer; it’s just a matter of his shoulder showing up."

Meanwhile, linebacker Marcus Washington (hamstring) is fine, Zorn said, but may be a game-time decision. Corner Fred Smoot (hip) is expected to play. Defensive tackle Anthony Montgomery was excused from practice today, but is expected to be in Dallas for Sunday’s game.
