"He's already a headache," Riggins said during an Sirius NFL Radio press conference. "Is it going to get worse? I don't know. I said at the end of the season and I believe that unless he changes the way he views himself and views his contributions to the team, that could be problematic for the Redskins.
"It's a bad situation and it's created probably by the people who run the team that he's been allowed to take the course that he has. I don't think there's any turning back now because Clinton Portis has the team over the barrel because of the amount of guaranteed money he's owed. … They have a bad situation on their hands."
However, this is sort of comical coming from Riggins, who used to fall asleep during team meetings. One of the Hogs told a story about how he once peed in the meeting room. Riggins was in the back and they heard a noise that sounded like, well, peeing. Turns out it was Riggins. That's among the reasons why at least one former longtime Redskin employee did not like Riggins.
But Riggins did not take swipes at the coaches. There's no doubt that Riggins is right on some accounts. Portis clearly has the ear of the owner and will use that to nail Jim Zorn. He already has.
