The Redskins have signed Bob Slowik to coach their defensive backs under Mike Shanahan.

Bob Slowik worked with Shanahan for four seasons. He coached the defensive backs in 2005-2006 and was the Defensive Coordinator from 2007-2008.

Slowik also has experience as a Defensive Coordinator in Green Bay (2004), Cleveland (1999) and Chicago (1993-98). Only one of those defenses ranked in the top 12 in the NFL in a particular season.

Slowik was also with the Cowboys in 1992 when they won Super Bowl behind a dominant defense. He was a college assistant for 14 seasons, and he first worked with Shanahan on the staff at Florida from 1980-82.
