Redskins Add Bob Slowik as DB's Coach

The Redskins have signed Bob Slowik to coach their defensive backs under Mike Shanahan.

Bob Slowik worked with Shanahan for four seasons. He coached the defensive backs in 2005-2006 and was the Defensive Coordinator from 2007-2008.

Slowik also has experience as a Defensive Coordinator in Green Bay (2004), Cleveland (1999) and Chicago (1993-98). Only one of those defenses ranked in the top 12 in the NFL in a particular season.

Slowik was also with the Cowboys in 1992 when they won Super Bowl behind a dominant defense. He was a college assistant for 14 seasons, and he first worked with Shanahan on the staff at Florida from 1980-82. Recommended Stories
