College: Gardner ended his collegiate career as one of the most prolific receivers in Clemson history, with 166 receptions for 2,498 yards and 13 touchdowns. In his senior season, he tallied 58 catches for 1,050 yards (18.1 avg.) and seven TDs, all team highs. He was named first-team All-America by The Sports Xchange, Gannett News Service and College & Pro Football Newsweekly. He was also first-team All-ACC and a semifinalist for the Fred Biletnikoff Award, which goes annually to the nation's top receiver.
High School: Gardner starred at Raines High in Jacksonville, Fla. He played QB and amassed 1,200 passing yards with 10 TDs and 700 rushing yards with seven TDs as a senior. He posted 2,500 all-purpose yards with 40 TDs in his last two seasons. He was All-Southeast and All-Florida and made the Jacksonville Super-24 Team. He was also All-Area, All-Conference, All-Region and All-State.
