2004: Started at center for the fourth consecutive year, but recurring knee tendinitis that had plagued him since the team's June mini-camp caused him to be placed on injured reserve after three games. ... Had surgery on his left knee Oct. 7. ... Was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 2. ... Had played in 82 consecutive games (87 including postseason) before his 2004 season was cut short after three games. ... Placed on physically unable to perform list Aug. 1, causing him to miss the first four weeks of training camp. Returned to practice Aug. 30 and made his preseason debut in the final non-league matchup, at Tennessee (Sept. 3).
2003: Showcased his versatility when the offensive line was hit by injuries in 2002. Started six games at center and eight (including Green Bay's playoff game) at left tackle for the injured Chad Clifton. ... Suffered broken right thumb early in training camp, forcing him to miss first three regular season games. ... Spent first two seasons on injured reserve with a serious leg injury suffered during preseason of rookie year. ... Started all 16 games for the first time as a pro in 2001. Also started both playoff contests. Was a key factor in Green Bay allowing the third-fewest sacks in the league (22) and the fewest by a Packer team in 27 years (17 in 1974). Did not incur a single holding penalty throughout 2001 season.
