2006: Cartwright played in all 16 games as the primary kickoff return specialist and on special teams. He logged 64 kickoff returns for 1,541 yards, a 24.1-yard average, and one TD; he bested Brian Mitchell's previous team mark of 1,478 yards set in 1994. He recorded 25 special teams tackles, fifth-best on the team, and one blocked punt. As a running back, he had five rushes for 15 yards.
2005: Cartwright served primarily on special teams and had 22 special teams tackles, third-best on the team. He also came out of the backfield to log 199 yards on 27 carries, a 7.4-yards per carry average, and two touchdowns. He had two ctaches for 23 yards.
2004: Cartwright served as a solid special teams player, recording 15 tackles on kickoff and punt coverage units. He played in 13 games overall.
2003: Cartwright played in 15 games and started three, setting career-highs in carries with 107 and yards with 411. He also led the Redskins in rushing touchdowns with four, all from less than 3-yards out. He also had 18 catches for 176 yards.
2002: Cartwright had a solid rookie season after earning his spot on the roster, contributing in blocking schemes as a backup running back as well getting some touches out of the backfield.
College: Cartwright played college ball for Kansas State, and earned All-Big Twelve Conference honorable mention from the league's coaches as a senior in 2001. He started every game, except Nebraska, at fullback.
He registered 66 carries for 292 yards (4.4 avg) and a pair of touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 108 yards (7.2 avg). As a junior in 2000, Cartwright emerged from reserve player to starting fullback. He started five of the final six games, totaling 46 carries for 278 yards (6.0 avg) and five touchdowns. He also registered 78 yards on five receptions (15.6 avg). Against Ball State, Cartwright scored two touchdowns, his first two as a Wildcat.
