Biography:

How Acquired: Selected in the second round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.

Signed by the Washington Redskins as an unrestricted free agent on March 3, 2004.

2006: Griffin played in 14 games, with 14 starts, and finished with 68 tackles (49 solo), one sack and one forced fumble. He played in his 100th career NFL game at New Orleans in Week 15 on Dec. 17.

2005: Griffin played in 13 games, with 12 starts, and both of the Redskins' postseason games. He finished the regular season with 48 tackles (35 solo), one interception, four sacks and one forced fumble.

2004: In his first season in Washington, Griffin was a dominant force on the inside. He started 15 games and recorded a career-high 96 tackles and led the team with 15 tackles for a loss. He was also tied for the team lead with six sacks. He was named a fourth alternate for the Pro Bowl.

2003: Griffin started fifteen games at left defensive tackle, posting 68 tackles (44 solo) with one sack, two pass deflections and a forced fumble.

2002: Griffin started all 14 games in which he played at defensive tackle (13 at left tackle, one at right tackle), missing games at Houston (11/24) and vs. Tennessee (12/1) with an ankle injury.

2001: Griffin started all 16 games at left defensive tackle and finished tied for sixth on the team with 63 tackles (47 solo). He also had 2.5 sacks for 15 yards, a pass defensed and a fumble recovery.

2000: Griffin played in 15 regular season games, missing one because of a concussion. He played in all three postseason games with one start at both end and tackle. He finished the season with 24 tackles, including 20 solo, five sacks and five passes defensed.

College: Griffin started 23 of 25 games (including bowls) after enrolling at Alabama following junior college. As a senior in 1999, was a Super Sleeper Team and All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection by SportsPage.com, adding 2nd-team honors from the league's coaches.

He played left defensive tackle, recording 53 tackles (30 solo) and tied for the team lead with 5.5 sacks for minus-22 yards and had eight stops for losses of 23 yards. He was also credited with 12 quarterback pressures, forced and recovered a fumble and deflected three passes defensed.
