PRO: A young strong-legged kicker who ranks 4th on the Jets all-time scoring chart with 440 career points, and reached the 300-point mark faster than any player in Jets history (43 games)…has improved his FG accuracy in each of his 1st 3 professional seasons but fell off slightly last season…surpassed the 100-point mark in his 1st 3 NFL seasons, including a career-high 120 points in 1997 and 1998 (5th-highest in team history)…he is 101-141 (71.6%) on FG and 137-140 (97.9%) on PAT in 63 career games…considered among the NFL’s best kickoff specialists…holds the modern-day NFL record for touchbacks in a season with 29 in 1997…was a consensus all-rookie selection in 1997…originally signed as a free agent by the Jets prior to the 1997 season.
COLLEGE: A 4-year letterman who finished as Wisconsin’s 5th all-time leading scorer (186 points)...ranks 2nd on the Badgers all-time list in extra points (99) and attempts (105) and 3rd in FG (29) and attempts (51)...owns the school record for longest FG (60 yards)...also handled punting duties…hit a 60-yard FG against Minnesota as a junior, the longest in NCAA since 1995 and the 4th longest in NCAA history.
PERSONAL: Single...majored in consumer science...enjoys surfing, hunting and fishing in his free time...favorite TV show is The Simpsons...has completed an internship with Citibank...has done work to help raise funds for the New York State Troopers Foundation the past 3 years…attended Port Charlotte High School in his home town of Port Charlotte, FL. |
