Veteran defensive end demonstrated his versatility in 2002 while shifting to left end from his familliar spot at right end where he excelled for Chicago the previous two seasons… Also played on the interior of the line at tackle while leading the d-line in tackles despite missing three games early in the season due to injury… Recorded stellar second season with the Bears in 2001, establishing career-highs with 72 tackles and 10 pass deflections while equaling his career-high of nine sacks… Posted then career-high 55 tackles in first year with Chicago despite missing the final two games of the season to injury… Joined Bears as an unrestricted free agent (2/12/00) after spending his first four NFL years in Seattle… Started 41 of 60 games played for the Seahawks, compiling career totals of 138 tackles and 21.5 sacks while forcing five fumbles and recovering three others… Originally drafted in fourth round (99th overall) by Seattle in 1996.
College
Four-year letterman and three-year starter for Bulldogs. Ended career with 244 tackles, 18 tackles-for-loss and 12 sacks. Started at defensive end as senior, linebacker as junior and defensive tackle as sophomore. Totaled 82 tackles in senior season. Collected career-high 87 tackles as junior and tied for team-lead with five sacks. One of only three true freshmen to letter in 1992, playing outside linebacker. |
